  • Day 62 – City of angels

Felt good to have slept in a comfy and warm bed again. Shame the cost of two nights was the same as a week in Cusco.

After our free continental breakfast, consisting of a muffin and coffee, we took the motel…

  • Day 61 – Up up and away

Four hours sleep and beer the night before a full days travelling – I knew I was in for a tough day.

  • Day 57 – Trek day 3

After packing up my things I headed straight for the hot springs for a pre breakfast dip. Breakfast itself was yummy. I devoured the pancake and honey rolls. This really has been the best I’ve eaten all trip.

    Hitting the trail…

  • Day 56 – Trek day 2

After a stormy night under canvas I was thankful for  the extra thick sleeping bag that I’d been lugging around.

  • Day 51 – The Sacred Valley

Early start today as we joined a group doing a tour of the Sacred Valley. Climbing out of Cusco we were treated to some stunning views of the city. Passing Saqsaywaman (pronounced sexywoman by the tourists) we saw the stature…

  • Day 50 – Half century

Got woken from a lovely dream buy loud street noises and breakfast being served next door. A shower sorted me out but I shuddered when I saw eggs for breakfast again.

About this blog

Welcome to the personal blog of Robert A J Ford, a professional interaction designer and developer based in the UK.

I started this blog in 2007 to record my cycle training leading up to the Etape. I've never been one for diaries but this format works well with my job and lifestyle so I expanded it to record details of other training and events.

As the blog grew it became a space where friends and family followed my activities. Their feedback has inspired me to keep writing. I hope you find something of interest and please feel free to leave comments.
