Day 111 – Boxing Day

After the wine on Christmas day I had a nice deep sleep. To wake me up Sandy dragged me out for a run round the headland reserve near his parents. Along the way I kept an eye out for vantage spots for New Year’s. To cool down we drove down to Balmoral Beach where the crowds were out in force.

Back at the house we watched the start of the cricket and the Sydney to Hobart boat race. We would have gone to watch it in person but we were due to head out and the crowds would have made us late.

Higgsy picked us up around lunchtime and we headed back to his place where we changed into loud Hawaiian drinking shirts. From Higgsy’s we headed to one of their friends houses, located at the end of Manly Harbour, for a BBQ. The location of the house is stunning, next to the local land mark of two buildings called the toilet rolls it overlooks Manly and Balmoral.

With the food finished we headed down to the seaside pool and started drinking. Sitting in the pool feet from the sea with a cool beer in hand was heaven.

About this blog

Welcome to the personal blog of Robert A J Ford, a professional interaction designer and developer based in the UK.

I started this blog in 2007 to record my cycle training leading up to the Etape. I've never been one for diaries but this format works well with my job and lifestyle so I expanded it to record details of other training and events.

As the blog grew it became a space where friends and family followed my activities. Their feedback has inspired me to keep writing. I hope you find something of interest and please feel free to leave comments.
