Training round up

I’ve still not been getting as many miles in as possible but I am making small steps. This week I managed a few miles on the turbo trainer and a long ride out into the Cotswolds with the boys.

It took a while to get going as I’ve been feeling pretty tired. The 8am start turned into a 1pm departure. Still it was worth it as the weather and the route were superb.

Mark had an incident with his chain breaking which served as a good on the road repair test. We patched it up and managed to find a local bike shop to get a new one fitted.

Towards the end we work well as a team and took turns at the front. For a good few miles we lay it down and it felt great; could feel it in the legs after though!

Need a change of scenery!

On the road

In total we managed 50+ miles; long enough considering how tired I’ve been feeling. By the end I was a bit sore but completely awake.

I love this bike, some would say too much with the amount of time I spend maintaining it! But if I'm going to be going 50mph down a mountain I want to know its in good shape.

About this blog

Welcome to the personal blog of Robert A J Ford, a professional interaction designer and developer based in the UK.

I started this blog in 2007 to record my cycle training leading up to the Etape. I've never been one for diaries but this format works well with my job and lifestyle so I expanded it to record details of other training and events.

As the blog grew it became a space where friends and family followed my activities. Their feedback has inspired me to keep writing. I hope you find something of interest and please feel free to leave comments.
